If someone asks, ‘What are these wounds on your body?’ they will answer, ‘The wounds I was given at the house of my friends.’
Zechariah 13:6

Funny, you never really think of your friends betraying you until one day it happens and you’re like, “what just happened?” It blindsides you out of left field.  With an enemy you rather expect it and look out for it, but not from someone you trust.

The psalmist speaks of my own familiar friend who I had trusted has lifted his hand against me. He and I walked with each other and shared bread together.

Christianity is an interesting faith because things happen that you’d have never guess would happen and hoped that it wouldn’t. In another place in Micah, I believe, it says not to trust anyone – not even the wife or the husband leaning against you because sometime they might use whatever you have and say against you.

What I would like to be and happen is to be true when the rubber meets the road. When the time of testing happens, to be a true friend and not wound the one closest to you.  But I know its not always like that.  Although, even wounds can be trophies to remember and rejoice about.  Again, Christianity is interesting.  Reactions that God requires is a head turner.  They are totally against the grain of what the world calls rational and realistic.

In closing, the words of Paul are thus;  From now on, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. Galatians 6:17

Till Jesus wills it,
Godspeed!
